Sharp bookmakers such as Pinnacle, and exchanges such as Betfair, take large bets and move their prices quickly. Other bookmakers often adjust later. Sharp Value looks at that gap.
How the comparison works. Take the sharp price after its move, remove its margin (and the commission, for Betfair), and you get an updated fair reference. Then compare it with the soft bookmaker's price for the same selection and the same line.
An example. The sharp price fell from 2.15 to 2.00 (−7.5%) in five minutes. With its margin removed, the fair reference is 2.08. A soft bookmaker still offered 2.68 when we recorded it: 28.8% above the fair reference, because it had not moved yet.

Watch out: a price gap is not proven value on its own. The comparison only holds for the same market, the same line and the same settlement rules, at the time it was recorded. Soft prices often follow within minutes, and the price can be gone before you place the bet. This is a market-based estimate, separate from our model's edge in Match Analysis.
On Pattern90. Choose the sharp reference (SHARP LINE: Pinnacle or Betfair), the bookmakers to compare (BET ON) and the market: 1X2, goals, Asian handicap or corners. Each card shows the SHARP MOVE, the soft price with its value and recording time, and turns grey as PRICE GONE once the bookmaker follows. Qualifying matches have at least €500 matched on Betfair. "Our basket" marks the tips we track for our results: value 5–15% at odds 1.60–3.60.
One practical note: soft bookmakers may limit accounts that often take these prices.
