How to read it
▼ Dropping odds
The price fell by 3% or more in the last 12 hours, in a busy market. The biggest moves are at the top. Matches leave the list at kick-off.
STEAMER
A sudden rush of money in 15 minutes and the favourite’s price falls by at least 3%: the market is backing it.
DRIFTER
A sudden rush of money but the favourite’s price rises: money is going against it.
VOLUME SURGE
A lot of new money in 15 minutes with the price standing still: a busy market without a clear direction yet.
⚑ Unusual volume
Matched money at least three times the average of the other matches in the same league that day.
Price first
The direction always comes from the price, never from the share of the money. Money can be matched without changing anything; a falling price means the market changed its view.
Frequently asked questions
What are dropping odds?
Dropping odds are prices that have fallen in a short time. A price usually falls when money comes in on that selection, or when the market reacts to news such as team line-ups or injuries. A clear fall in a busy market is worth a closer look; it is a sign of interest, not a guarantee of the result.
What is Money Way?
Money Way shows where the money is being matched on the betting exchange: how much on the home side, the draw and the away side, and how fast it arrives. It helps you see whether the money agrees with the price.
What do STEAMER, DRIFTER and VOLUME SURGE mean?
All three start with a sudden rise in matched money within 15 minutes. If the favourite’s price falls by at least 3% (and two price steps), it is a STEAMER. If it rises, it is a DRIFTER. If the price stays still, it is a VOLUME SURGE: busy market, no clear direction.
Which matters more: the price move or the money?
The price move. A large amount can be matched without changing anything; when the price itself falls, the market has actually changed its view. That is why the direction on this page always comes from the price, never from the share of the money.
